It’s February, it’s cold. I want to be in a warm, orange room with my ginger cat Rufus. Make that a HUGE Rufus, big enough to hug me! I’d like to be the cat on the rug!
Thanks to art and creative writing you can make your dream environment. Drawing this made me wonder, what places would others like to create today? Perhaps a summery garden, a beach, or a kitchen with a giant hippo stirring porridge?
What things you would like in your dream room, landscape or garden? Here are some activity ideas for grown-ups and kids…
YOUR DREAM WORKPLACE/SCHOOL
I recently asked my creative writing group to conjure up their dream work place, considering the following questions:
What can you see from the window?
What can you smell?
What can you hear?
What is outside the door? Or are you outside already?
Is anyone else there? An animal?
Is it cluttered or spacious? Light or dark?
What nature is around?
Are you high up or low down?
It’s can be a therapeutic and fun exercise. And once you’ve conjured a dream location you can return there time and again. 🙂
How about drawing your dream playground or the ultimate treehouse?! Or your very own spaceship?
Here are a few questions you could ask:
Does it have inventions/gadgets?
What can you see from the top?
What is it made of?
What different sections does it have?
What colours make you feel happy?
(I drew my model, Rufus, in watercolour brush pens, finishing on the iPad with Procreate.)
